Bucks Guard Tyler Herro Says He Wants to Move Past Altercation After Adebayo Struck Him Over Salary Comments

Bucks guard Tyler Herro said he wants to move on from a physical altercation with Bam Adebayo and focus on his new role in Milwaukee. Herro told ESPN he is trying to put the incident behind him. "Honestly, I'm just trying to move past all of it," he said.

"I'm focused on Milwaukee and building something special. " The comments came days after ESPN reported that Adebayo confronted Herro at the Resorts World Hotel in Las Vegas on July 10. The encounter began shortly after 9 a.m.

When Adebayo approached Herro about social media comments attributed to the guard that questioned whether Adebayo justified his $60 million salary. Sources with knowledge of the encounter told ESPN that Adebayo struck Herro near his chin. Herro did not fall to the ground and was restrained by others in the gym from responding physically.

Descriptions of the contact remain in some dispute. Herro, who was named Sixth Man of the Year in 2022 and earned All-Star honors in the 2024-25 season, was traded to Milwaukee as part of the deal that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami. He said Milwaukee would be his preferred destination if he had to play anywhere other than the Heat.

"I'm ready to come home and not prove everyone wrong, but just be able to represent the city and the state because I wanted to do that coming out of school as well," Herro said. Heat sources told ESPN that the two players had a mostly good relationship during their seven years as teammates but had grown apart over the past year.

Herro appeared in only 33 games last season because of injuries and struggled to adjust to changes in the team's offensive scheme.
