PGA Tour player Cameron Young began the final round of the Open Championship seven shots behind leader Sam Burns at three-under par. He recorded birdies on each of the first three holes and added two more on the front nine to reach seven-under after nine holes. Young added a seventh birdie on the 17th hole to tie for the lead.
A bogey on the 18th hole left him one stroke behind Ryan Fox, who finished at 10-under par. "I thought 10 [under] had a decent chance," Young said. "I've played around the lead in majors enough to know that scraping out even par on a Sunday in a major championship can be really difficult.
" It is the second time Young has finished second at the Open Championship.
