Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina Draw 1-1 in World Cup Match

Cyle Larin came off the bench to score in the 78th minute and secure a 1-1 draw for Canada against Bosnia and Herzegovina in a World Cup Group B match played in Toronto on 12 June 2026. Jovo Lukic gave Bosnia the lead in the 21st minute when he steered home a flick-on from a corner for his first international goal. Canada created several chances before halftime.

Jonathan David sent a well-struck shot from the centre of the area straight at goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj. Richie Laryea had a shot cleared off the crossbar by Sead Kolasinac in the 53rd minute. Ermedin Demirovic tested Canada goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau, who made a crucial save after going through on goal.

Larin entered the match as a substitute in the 76th minute. Two minutes later he fired home a right-footed shot from the centre of the box after a deflection, scoring Canada’s first World Cup goal on home soil. The result gave Canada its first World Cup point.

Bosnia and Herzegovina returned to the tournament after a 12-year absence.
