The project involves a 139-kilometre expansion of British Columbia's current natural gas pipeline network, adding up to 300 million cubic feet of liquefied natural gas capacity. S.

"This project will enable us to heat more homes, businesses, hospitals and schools while bolstering British Columbian industry, including for LNG, and creating thousands of jobs," Hodgson said. Construction on the project is set to begin this summer, according to the ministry. The approval allows Enbridge to proceed with upgrades to its existing pipeline infrastructure for natural gas transport.
The expansion focuses on increasing the system's capacity to meet growing demand for natural gas.
