CFL Signs Six-Year Broadcast Extension With Bell Media, DAZN and YouTube
The Canadian Football League announced a new six-year media rights agreement on Thursday. Bell Media will remain the majority Canadian broadcaster while DAZN and YouTube join as additional partners.
nbcnews.comThe agreement also adds DAZN as a new Canadian and international partner and names YouTube a Premier Platform partner. Financial terms of the new deal were not disclosed. The league is completing the final season of its prior six-year Canadian contract with TSN, which paid an average of $50 million annually.
Starting in 2027 TSN will air 60 regular-season games, six playoff contests and the Grey Cup each year beginning in 2027. The Grey Cup will also be simulcast on CTV and Crave, while RDS will remain the exclusive French-language broadcaster for all Montreal Alouettes games, playoffs and the Grey Cup.
DAZN Canada will carry Saturday Night Football each week of the regular season plus one Saturday playoff game in each of the first two rounds. It will serve as the official global broadcaster for all CFL games outside Canada and the United States. YouTube will stream live pre-season games not carried by Bell Media or DAZN, along with enhanced combine coverage and an All-Access unscripted series.
The platform will also work to increase discoverability, livestream content and access to the league's historical game archive. The CFL's separate U.S. broadcast contract with CBS Sports Network, reported to pay $1 million annually, expires after the 2026 season, and the league stated it continues to review options south of the border.
