The first regulation requires companies dealing with important data to conduct security assessments before transferring information overseas. It replaces older guidelines issued in 2021.
The second regulation adds controls on technology related to rare earth processing and semiconductor manufacturing. Officials said the changes aim to strengthen oversight of sensitive exports.
