China’s LineShine supercomputer displaces U.S. El Capitan from top spot on global ranking
The system at China's National Supercomputing Center in Shenzhen displaced El Capitan from number one. It recorded the first performance above 2,000 exaflops on the list.

LineShine has taken the number-one position on the TOP500 ranking of supercomputers, displacing El Capitan from the top spot. The machine is located at the National Supercomputing Center in Shenzhen. LineShine uses roughly 45,000 LX2 processors.
Each processor contains 304 cores running at 1.55 GHz, and the processors are linked by the LingQi high-speed, low-latency network. The system is the first supercomputer to exceed the 2,000 exaflop barrier. It is 20 percent faster than El Capitan on the TOP500 benchmark.
LineShine draws 42.2 megawatts of power during operation.
