Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi begins a four-country Nordic tour on Thursday. The schedule includes meetings in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway. In Denmark, Wang will hold talks with Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen and meet King Frederik. He is then scheduled to meet Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard in Stockholm.
The final stop is Oslo on July 8 for talks with Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide. The visits follow recent European Union decisions on trade policy. Brussels set an October deadline for progress on trade imbalances after talks in Belgium. EU leaders also adopted a firmer approach toward China amid concerns over industrial impacts.
