Colts’ Backup QB Battle Between Richardson and Leonard Dead Even as Jones Says He’ll Be Ready for Opener

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones said he is confident he will be ready for the season opener. “I understand the process, and you got to hit your marks,” he said via the team’s website. ” Colts head coach Shane Steichen said the backup quarterback competition between Anthony Richardson and Riley Leonard is a dead heat.

“It’s 50/50,” Steichen said of the battle. ” Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said defensive back Caleb Ransaw missed his entire rookie season. “To not obviously have a lot of the experience that he was able to get last year, having a quote-unquote red shirt, if you will,” Coen said via Jags Wire.

Coen added that the current offseason is important for Ransaw. “This time is huge for Caleb to actually go through those motions, to make those calls, to see the defense work from his vantage point and how things, you know, work together,” Coen said. Tennessee Titans offensive lineman Peter Skoronski discussed working with new offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo.

“There’s a lot of differences from previous coaches,” Skoronski said via Titans Wire. “I think his intensity is really high. ” Skoronski said Bricillo stresses positioning and finishing. “Being in the right place at the right time and finishing has been a really big aspect of what he’s preached,” Skoronski said.
