Commemorative Passport With President Trump Image Limited to Washington Agency

A commemorative U.S. passport bearing an image of President Trump will be issued at a single location beginning July 6. The State Department said the passport will serve as the default document at the Washington Passport Agency while supplies remain available. Between 25,000 and 30,000 copies are expected to be produced.

The passport will not be issued to applicants who apply online, by mail, at U.S. embassies or consulates, or at any passport agency other than the one in Washington, D.C. A rendering released by the White House shows President Trump leaning over the Resolute Desk with fists clenched, next to his signature and text from the Declaration of Independence.

Background The State Department first released images of the passport design in April. U.S. passports have not previously included an image of a sitting president. Earlier this year, an image of President Trump was added to National Parks annual passes alongside George Washington.

The administration has also pursued other projects that incorporate the president's name or likeness on federal property.
