Background on the condiment Ranch dressing originated in the mid-1950s when Steve Henson mixed herbs, spices, buttermilk and mayonnaise at the Hidden Valley Guest Ranch in Santa Barbara. Guests requested jars of the mixture to take home, leading to commercial production.
A powdered version followed later. The company said additional product details will be released at a later date. Security officials posted guidance on social media advising travelers to pack larger containers in checked luggage and to keep carry-on sauces under 3.4 ounces when traveling within the United States.
