New York PostThe Connecticut Sun signed Hailey Van Lith to a developmental contract days after the Chicago Sky waived the guard. Van Lith had been the 11th overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft and appeared in nine games for Chicago before the waiver.
Van Lith averaged 8.1 points and 2.2 assists while shooting 49.2 percent from the field and 47.1 percent from three-point range in her nine appearances. She started three of those games, including a 17-point outing against the Las Vegas Aces on May 15.
Before entering the league, Van Lith played three seasons at Louisville, one season at LSU, and her final college season at TCU, where she averaged 17.9 points and 5.4 assists.
Developmental contracts in the WNBA limit players to 12 games or 25 percent of the 48-game season. The nine games Van Lith already played under a standard contract do not count against the new limit. The Sun currently hold a 2-8 record. The franchise is scheduled to relocate after the current season.
