Knicks Players Appear at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event at Madison Square Garden

Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Tyrese Haliburton and Trae Young appeared at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event at Madison Square Garden on July 18-19. The event marked the first time the show had been held at the arena since 2007. Brunson main-evented the program with WWE Champion Roman Reigns.
He was introduced as the “King of New York” and received a championship belt featuring a blue-and-orange stripe. Tyrese Haliburton joined the segment aligned with Seth Rollins. Rollins attacked Reigns, but Brunson blocked the assault, allowing Reigns to deliver a Superman punch and spear.
Trae Young appeared during the same portion and tore a Jalen Brunson jersey in front of the crowd. Karl-Anthony Towns entered during a no-disqualification match between Danhausen and JD McDonagh. Towns delivered chokeslams to McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio, the latter through a table, after emerging from a prop cloning machine.
Danhausen then pinned McDonagh to win. The Knicks won the 2026 NBA Championship one month earlier, ending a 53-year title drought. Brunson was named NBA Finals MVP.
