Cowboys Linebacker Snowden Suspended for First Three Games but Eligible for Preseason

Dallas Cowboys outside linebacker Charles Snowden has been suspended for the first three games of the 2026 NFL season. The suspension stems from a DUI arrest in December 2024 while Snowden played for the Las Vegas Raiders. He was found asleep in an SUV with a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit.

Snowden pleaded no contest in January to a misdemeanor DUI charge and was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and complete coroner's and DUI courses. His charge will be reduced to reckless driving upon completion of those terms. Snowden remains eligible to participate in all preseason activities, including games.

The suspension takes effect when the roster is reduced to 53 players. The Cowboys signed Snowden as a free agent on June 18 to a one-year, $1.1 million contract after a tryout at the team's minicamp. He had been waived by the Raiders.

Last season Snowden recorded a career-best three sacks and his first NFL interception in 15 games. He has 4.5 sacks and 28 tackles in 33 career games.
