More than 568,000 registered voters are casting ballots at 1,217 polling stations in Cyprus and abroad. The election will determine the composition of the House of Representatives for the next five years.

M. on Sunday to elect 56 members of parliament. A total of 753 candidates, including 744 party nominees and nine independents, are competing for seats. The election follows a campaign focused on the cost of living, migration, corruption, and the Cyprus problem. Voter turnout was reported as satisfactory in the first hours despite rain and strong winds in parts of the island.
” Independent candidate Andreas Efstratiou expressed optimism while objecting to the label “individual” on ballot papers. Christos Clerides, head of Democratic Change, voted at the same station used by former president Glafcos Clerides.
Polls close this evening.
Initial party results are scheduled for release shortly afterward, with the full seat allocation expected late tonight.
