Dallas Wings Defeat Sparks 90-82 to Extend Streak to Six Games

The Dallas Wings defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 90-82 on Sunday in Arlington, Texas. The win extended Dallas' franchise-record streak to six games. Paige Bueckers scored 25 points before leaving the game.

She hit a three-pointer that capped a 14-5 run and gave the Wings an eight-point lead with 9:12 remaining. With about 3½ minutes left and Dallas ahead by four, Nneka Ogwumike was fouled while running downcourt and collided with Bueckers. Both players stayed on the floor for a couple of minutes.

Ogwumike remained in the game. Bueckers, who appeared to hit the back of her head, walked to the locker room and did not return. Dallas coach Jose Fernandez offered no update on Bueckers after the game.

Arike Ogunbowale scored 20 points for the Wings, including six in the final stretch. Jessica Shepard recorded 11 points, 14 rebounds and six assists. Azzi Fudd also scored 11 points. Ogwumike finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Sparks.

Dearica Hamby scored 16 points, Cameron Brink added 10, and Erica Wheeler had 10 assists and nine points. The Sparks have now lost four straight, all on the road. Dallas improved to 17-8 while Los Angeles fell to 10-15.

The teams had met once before this season, with Dallas winning 104-96 in Los Angeles on June 5. The Wings host the New York Liberty on Monday in a game postponed from Thursday.
