Democratic primaries test progressive and moderate candidates

Democratic primaries on Tuesday will test which wing of the party draws more support ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. At least six contests across multiple states pit progressive candidates against moderate or establishment-aligned candidates.

In the 11th Congressional District, a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors has received an endorsement from a former House speaker. Two other candidates are also competing.
