MSF Reports 1,144 Palestinians Killed and 3,703 Injured in Gaza Since October 2025 Ceasefire

Al Jazeera reported on July 18, 2026 that 1,144 Palestinians have been killed and 3,703 injured in Gaza since the October 2025 ceasefire. June 2026 marked the deadliest month for Palestinians there since the truce took effect, while the overall death toll since October 7, 2023 has now exceeded 73,200.

Israel began military operations in Gaza on that date and maintains a shifting “Yellow Line” inside the strip that restricts Palestinian movement, compressing more than two million people into one-third of the territory.

MSF clinics in Gaza are treating respiratory infections, skin diseases, and diarrhoeal illnesses linked to lack of clean water and sanitation. The organisation said overcrowding and restricted access to basic services are driving the spread of disease.

On October 26, 2024, Israeli forces raided Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza and arrested Dr Mohammed Obeid, an MSF surgeon, along with 57 other people.

Dr Obeid remains detained in an Israeli prison without charge as of July 2026. At least 1,700 healthcare workers have been killed in Gaza since October 2023, including 15 MSF staff members, and more than 95 Palestinian healthcare workers remain detained by Israeli forces. Israeli authorities deregistered 37 humanitarian organisations in January 2026.

Israel is blocking international staff and medical supplies from entering Gaza and the West Bank. MSF is calling for the unconditional and immediate release of Dr Mohammed Obeid. The organisation stated that the number one health issue in Palestine is Israel’s occupation, noting that since October 7, 2023, Israeli government, military, and state-sponsored settlers have accelerated land seizure and movement restrictions in the West Bank.
