Thomas denied abuse allegations and accused Demi Moore of threatening to destroy him after Louetta’s 2023 birth. The filing responds to claims Willis made last month.
bbc.co.ukDerek Thomas filed a court document responding to Rumer Willis in their custody battle over daughter Louetta. com reported that Thomas stated he never acted aggressively or inappropriately toward Willis. Thomas alleged that Willis told him directly she did not want her family present for the first 40 days after Louetta’s birth in 2023.
He said Demi Moore and household staff entered the home the day after the birth and caused a significant disturbance. Thomas further alleged that Moore, based on something said by Willis, threatened to “destroy” him on that occasion. Thomas denied allegations that he was on drugs.
He told the court he would be happy to pay monthly child support of $2,350. He also accused Willis of using Louetta in sponsored adult sexual humor content without his permission. Thomas stated that he FaceTimes his daughter every day despite being prohibited from seeing her by Willis, who is 37.
He said at no time did he agree to move out of state with Willis or to permanently relocate with Louetta after her birth. Thomas noted that Willis moved with Louetta to Idaho to escape toxic air quality during the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires and allegedly tried to stay there permanently.
He said Willis told him on several occasions that she wished to move to Texas or another out-of-state location to be free from her mother’s overbearing and hostile conduct.
Willis filed court documents last month accusing Thomas of incessant domestic violence after he requested child custody and visitation rights in July 2025. She accused him of engaging in ongoing coercive control through prolonged circular verbal attacks and claimed he engaged in this type of attack for over six hours at a time on a daily basis prior to their August 2024 breakup.
Willis stated she was constantly trying to keep the peace and walk on eggshells.
She claimed Thomas wanted to isolate her from her friends and family, constantly called her a liar with no reason, told her she was a bad girlfriend, and exhibited paranoid behavior saying that her mother and she were plotting to take Louetta away from him.
She also claimed Thomas got very mad when she would not let his mother smoke weed in her house when Louetta was a newborn. Demi Moore corroborated Willis’s claims and stated that Thomas acted with no consideration to Willis, the baby, the process, or anyone else and became aggressive when Louetta was born.
Thomas stated: “I have committed no acts of domestic violence in any form, including any active coercive control. ” His lawyer denied the allegations, calling them substantially inaccurate. Louetta was born in 2023.
