Devils sign forward Mantha to two-year, $9.5 million contract

The New Jersey Devils signed forward Anthony Mantha to a two-year contract worth $9.5 million, the team announced Wednesday. Mantha will receive $5.4 million next season and $4.1 million in 2027-28. The 31-year-old forward recorded a career-high 33 goals and 64 points last season while averaging 15 minutes and 11 seconds of ice time per game.

was selected 20th overall in the 2012 NHL draft by the Red Wings. He spent the first five-plus seasons of his career in Detroit before a 2021 trade to Washington, where he played three-plus seasons. He was traded to Vegas in March 2024 and signed a one-year deal with Calgary in July 2024. An ACL injury limited him to 13 games that season.

Longueuil, Quebec, enters his 12th NHL season with 179 career goals. He has appeared in the Stanley Cup Playoffs with Washington, Vegas and Pittsburgh over the past six seasons. He has also represented Team Canada, earning a silver medal at the 2019 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships and playing in the 2012 and 2014 World Junior Championships.
