Dimitrov Defeats Berrettini in Five Sets at Wimbledon
Grigor Dimitrov defeated Matteo Berrettini 6-3 6-4 3-6 5-7 6-3 to advance at Wimbledon. The 35-year-old Bulgarian will next face Britain's Arthur Fery. Alexander Zverev and other seeds also progressed in the third round.

Grigor Dimitrov defeated Matteo Berrettini 6-3 6-4 3-6 5-7 6-3 in the Wimbledon third round. The 35-year-old reached the fourth round for the sixth time in 16 appearances at the tournament and will face Britain's Arthur Fery. Dimitrov led two sets to love before Berrettini forced a decider.
"After the way I exited last year, I'll never know what would've happened," Dimitrov said. "But guess what? " He retired from his 2025 match against Jannik Sinner with a right pectoral injury after leading two sets to love.
"I enjoyed it too much - that's why I wanted to play five sets," Dimitrov added. Alexander Zverev defeated Marcos Giron 6-2 7-6 (7-4) 6-4. The world number three and French Open champion has won 42 ATP Tour titles.
"I feel different than last year - I feel I play better tennis in important moments and have more confidence," Zverev said. " Alex de Minaur beat Zachary Svajda 6-2 5-7 6-2 6-4. Flavio Cobolli overcame Karen Khachanov 0-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-7 (5-7) 6-2 6-2.
Taylor Fritz defeated Lorenzo Sonego 4-6 6-3 6-4 7-6 (7-5). Alexander Bublik beat Frances Tiafoe 4-6 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (13-11) 4-6 6-3. Jiri Lehecka defeated Jaume Munar in four sets.
