Travelers will now find themselves dangling over the radiant welcome of New York Harbor, the jagged cliffs of the New England coast, and the red rocks of the Grand Canyon. Disney Imagineers have been filming at more than a dozen locations across the country for the updated experience. Disney tapped composer Bruce Broughton to remix the legendary score by the late Jerry Goldsmith.
The ride will retain its signature scents, giant projection dome and soaring soundtrack that have made the simulator one of Disney’s most beloved rides for more than two decades. “Soarin’ Across America brings breathtaking seasons and regions to life,” Walt Disney stated.
“It’s a tapestry of urban wonders, natural beauty, and iconic locations that celebrate the spirit of the nation and the 250th anniversary of the United States,” Disney Imagineers said in the blog post.
The EPCOT version of Soarin’ Across America will include a National Geographic-themed trivia game about the 50 states. Disney is celebrating America’s 250th anniversary with the new attraction positioned as a major part of the observances.
The move comes as the company leans heavily into the milestone birthday, turning its parks into a celebration of the land of the free and the home of the brave. com reported that the updated experience forms a central element of those plans.
