Far-left DEI advocate Dan Buckley is departing the comics division; the company described the move as a retirement.
TV executive Brad Winderbaum will assume the role of Marvel President. Winderbaum previously oversaw several Marvel streaming series, including Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Ironheart, Echo, Agatha All Along, and Wonder Man.
U.S. direct-market comics segment has declined from peaks of 40 to 45 percent to approximately 29 percent. S. comics sales, while domestic titles represent roughly 15 percent. The company no longer releases detailed unit-sales figures. Industry observers estimate that around 2,500 comic shops have closed since 2016, with many surviving stores shifting focus to games and other merchandise.
Marvel Comics remains under the Disney corporate structure.
