The Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers completed their mandatory minicamps this week as part of the NFL's offseason program. Nineteen additional teams are scheduled to hold three-day minicamps next week, followed by 11 teams the week of June 15.

Dolphins practice updates The Dolphins conducted red zone drills during an open practice on the final day of minicamp. Quarterback Malik Willis threw touchdown passes to Theo Wease Jr. and Malik Washington. Coach Jeff Hafley said Willis' running ability will be used to stress opposing defenses in the red zone.

Willis has not run frequently during spring practices. Defensive tackle Zach Sieler worked on the side after a minor injury earlier in the week. Wide receiver Caleb Douglas also did not practice after an injury on Wednesday. Running back De'Von Achane participated in walk-throughs but has not taken part in team drills while recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.

Steelers practice updates Veteran pass rusher Alex Highsmith was absent from the second day of the Steelers' mandatory minicamp. A team spokesperson said the absence was due to an illness and unrelated to outside linebacker Nick Herbig's contract extension. Highsmith has two years remaining on an extension signed in 2023. He and Herbig are two of the Steelers' three highest-paid pass rushers.
