England Beats India by 56 Runs to Complete 4-0 T20 Series Sweep
Harry Brook's side finished the Vitality Series with a 56-run win on Saturday. The result lifted England to the top of the T20I rankings. Coach Brendon McCullum praised Brook's growth after the series.

England defeated India by 56 runs in the final T20 match at the Ageas Bowl on Saturday to complete a 4-0 series victory. The Independent reported that the wins included margins of 125 runs and nine wickets in the preceding matches. England’s T20I team is now ranked number one in the world.
Harry Brook has won 20 of his 23 completed T20Is as captain. Ben Stokes retired from Test cricket last month. The England and Wales Cricket Board is seeking his successor. Joe Root was chosen as Test captain at the Kia Oval after an incident in a London nightclub left Stokes unavailable for the second Test against New Zealand.
Brook had an altercation with a bouncer the night before an ODI in Wellington in November 2025. McCullum said the growth in Brook over the past 12 months has been immense and that he has a significant future as a leader of English cricket. McCullum also confirmed that England were allowed to celebrate the final win with a beer under new guidelines issued after the Rex Rooms incident in Chelsea.
“For a start there’s not many of our guys that actually drink, but anyone that wants a beer, can have a beer,” McCullum said.
