England Defeat New Zealand by 115 Runs in Low-Scoring Lord's Test
England dismissed New Zealand for 138 on the fourth morning to win by 115 runs and lead the series 1-0. The match finished in 166 overs without a single delivery of spin.

England completed a 115-run victory over New Zealand before lunch on the fourth day of the first Test at Lord's on 7 June 2026. New Zealand, resuming at 55-5 while chasing 254, were bowled out for 138 in 138 runs. Josh Tongue dismissed Tom Blundell with the first ball of the day.
Glenn Phillips and Devon Conway then added 53 for the seventh wicket before Harry Brook dropped Conway at second slip when the batter was on 24. Ben Stokes had Conway caught at gully by Jacob Bethell for 41. Gus Atkinson finished with 5-30.
He removed Nathan Smith, caught by Jamie Smith, then Kyle Jamieson, caught at mid-wicket, and finally bowled Matt Henry to end the innings. 5. England scored 140 and 226; New Zealand made 113 and 138.
Harry Brook top-scored with 56 in the first innings, Emilio Gay made 57 in the second, and Kyle Jamieson took 5-62 and finished 38 not out. Ollie Robinson claimed 5-39 and Nathan Smith took 6-70. The match was the third-shortest Test in history in which all 40 wickets fell and the first in England without spin since 1988.
England lead the three-match series 1-0. The second Test begins at The Oval on 17 June.
