The GuardianThe Enhanced Games held its first event in Las Vegas this week. Organizers had promised multiple world records. One record was broken during the competition. The chair, Christian Angermayer, told a reporter on Sunday night that next year’s event will include fitness influencers racing alongside elite athletes. He also said a legends section may be added.
Prize money and athlete participation Australian swim coach Brett Hawke said his phone had been contacted by elite athletes interested in competing. Hunter Armstrong, who competed without performance-enhancing substances, received $250,000. Emily Barclay, a British swimmer, earned $375,000 after winning one national title in 2019.
