Avinox, a subsidiary of Chinese drone specialist DJI, showed a motor equipped with sensors that monitor cyclist movements and terrain conditions.

Canyon presented a racing bike prototype fitted with cameras and radars that alert cyclists to nearby hazards. Spokesman Ben Hilldson said the system can anticipate a car door opening and warn the rider via visual signals on the frame, handlebar vibrations or helmet audio.
The company also displayed a helmet prototype with a large visor for real-time alerts and is collaborating with Volkswagen on a bicycle-to-car communication system whose launch is expected in about three years.
Linexo head of bicycle division Soeren Hirsch said around 90 percent of claims will be handled automatically by the end of the year. Start-up Wunderfix recorded some 3,000 service requests this year via its repair application. The European bicycle market sold 15.2 million units in 2025, a four percent decline from the previous year and the third consecutive annual drop, according to EY-Parthenon.
Analyst Constantin Gall said the sector has undergone consolidation since 2023 with lower sales, high inventories and pricing pressure. The consultancy forecasts revenue of 21.2 billion euros in 2031.
