Evan Phillips Reinstated by Dodgers 13 Months After Tommy John Surgery

Evan Phillips was reinstated off the injured list by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday, returning to the team 13 months after undergoing Tommy John surgery, ESPN reported. The 31-year-old right-handed reliever spent the past month at Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he posted a 1.80 ERA in 10 innings across 12 games while recording 13 strikeouts and five walks.

Phillips did not appear in the Dodgers' 8-7 win over the Colorado Rockies in 11 innings on Monday.

"My primary mix is very sharp and ready to roll," he said. Phillips credited himself, his family and teammates for sticking with the rehab process. He spent his rehab in Los Angeles last year after the May 2025 surgery, first focusing on the physical side including grips, location and his changeup before shifting to execution and competition.

In corresponding moves, the Dodgers optioned right-hander Paul Gervase to Triple-A after he tossed two scoreless innings with two strikeouts against San Diego.
