Polish far-right politicians have said the murder of an 18-year-old man of Polish descent in Southampton shows the effects of immigration policy. The victim, identified as Henry Nowak, was stabbed five times in December. Police video of his final minutes circulated online after his death.

Confederation of the Polish Crown called for protection of Poles at home and abroad. The leader of Spain's Vox party said British people were angry and mainstream media had stayed silent. A Japanese news site that focuses on anti-Chinese and anti-Korean content also covered the incident.

UK response The Reform UK leader said the public should react with pure, cold rage and repeated claims of two-tier policing. The UK prime minister said the moment called for serious work, not rage, and that there was no justification for more violence.

The attacker, identified as Vickrum Digwa, received a life sentence with a minimum term of 21 years. The attorney general's office has received multiple requests to review the sentence under the unduly lenient sentence scheme. A former police officer left her home after false online claims linked her to the arrest.

She criticized social media and AI platforms for spreading the accusations.
