Farid Basharat Beats Late-Replacement John Garza by Decision at UFC 329

Farid Basharat defeated John Garza by unanimous decision at UFC 329 on Saturday night. The victory improved Basharat's record to 16-0 in the bantamweight division. John Garza replaced Ethyn Ewing on six days' notice after Ewing withdrew due to injury.

Basharat, 28, outpointed the late replacement. In his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, Basharat stated that his current UFC contract has expired. "This was the last fight on my contract," he said.

Basharat said he has the longest win streak in the division and believes he deserves a new contract. "I wanna be the best in the world. The UFC is my dream since I was 10 years old. As long as I stay in this organization, I know that I'm gonna be a champion," he told Rogan.

He added that he views himself as the most underrated and well-rounded fighter on the roster. Basharat said he needs an opportunity to fight higher-ranked opponents to remain with the promotion.
