Fifteen-year-old batsman debuts for India in T20 loss to England

Fifteen-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi opened the batting for India and became the country's youngest men's international player during a Twenty20 match at Old Trafford on Saturday. Sooryavanshi scored 14 runs from 10 balls, including two sixes, before being stumped. He surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's record at 15 years and 99 days.

Match summary India posted 190 runs after Abhishek Sharma made 43 and Ishan Kishan scored 49. Sam Curran took three wickets for 33 runs. England lost their first two wickets without scoring but recovered through Jacob Bethell's unbeaten 76 from 46 balls.

Bethell hit five fours and five sixes as England reached the target with an over remaining. Ravi Bishnoi conceded 29 runs in one over that included two free hits. Jofra Archer finished the innings with Bethell.

Series context The match was the second Twenty20 between the sides.

England leads the five-match series 1-0 after winning in Manchester.
