Ambassadors for a UK wellness company directed followers to Telegram channels selling steroids, peptides and prescription medicines. The GuardianFitness influencers who publicly represent a UK wellness company have directed followers to Telegram channels selling anabolic steroids, peptides and prescription medicines, The Guardian reported. The company presents itself as a health and wellness business.
It has appeared at a fitness expo in Greater Manchester, sponsored a racehorse, launched a combat sports promotion, and plans to attend a running show in Birmingham. Its website sells skincare, hair-loss treatments and supplements.
Telegram network The Guardian identified a dozen ambassadors, affiliates and employees with a combined following of more than 180,000 on TikTok and Instagram who also promote performance-enhancing drugs. At least six administrators on the Telegram channel share usernames or images with the company's ambassadors or staff.
The channel was previously called Rohm and now operates as Anabolic By Nature. The founder and chief executive leads the Telegram group, posting stock updates, addressing delivery delays and offering advice on transporting the substances through airports.
The same account has invited members to become ambassadors and earn commission on referred sales.
Substances and legal status The channels advertise anabolic steroids, human growth hormone, the weight-loss drug tirzepatide, the acne treatment tretinoin, and experimental peptides including BPC-157 and TB-500. In the UK, anabolic steroids may be possessed for personal use but cannot be sold or supplied without a licence.
One ambassador posted videos on TikTok describing psychological side-effects after using trenbolone, including mood changes and arguments. Links in the account's biography direct viewers to the Telegram sales channel and the company's site.
Expert comment Geoff Bates, a lecturer in public health policy at the University of Bath, said social media is increasing the normalisation of steroid culture and that an overlap exists between steroid use and wellness practices. He noted that users often view the substances as part of a fitness programme.
The Telegram groups are repeatedly shut down and recreated. Anabolic By Nature has gained more than 5,500 members since April after an earlier channel with more than 13,000 members was closed in November 2025.
