Flavor Flav to host four-day Las Vegas event for U.S. women Olympic athletes

The event, titled SHE Weekend, will include a parade on the Las Vegas Strip, private dinners, public programming, and a free concert featuring Public Enemy and Sheila E. The idea began in 2024 after a letter from U.S. Olympic Water Polo National Team captain Maggie Steffens reached Flavor Flav's manager, Rhiannon Rae Ellis.

Ellis passed the request to Flavor Flav, who decided to sponsor the entire team rather than one athlete. Flavor Flav traveled to Paris to support the water polo team. He later became the official hype man and sponsor for the U.S. men's and women's Olympic bobsled and skeleton teams in 2025.

After President Donald Trump invited the U.S. men's hockey team to the State of the Union address and noted the women's team would also need to be included, Flavor Flav expanded his plans.

Event details The post inviting the women's hockey team to Las Vegas went viral while Flavor Flav and Ellis were on a flight. They then organized the larger SHE Weekend to bring together more than 100 athletes from this year's winter games, including the women's hockey team and USA bobsled/skeleton.

"We're going to spoil these women and give them the recognition they deserve," Flavor Flav told ESPN. Ellis said the initial $5,000 sponsorship request from Steffens' agent prompted the broader effort. "When my daughters do something good, I know I want them to be recognized for it," Flavor Flav said.
