Ford is recalling 255,404 Focus automobiles, model years 2012-2018, after a previous repair did not resolve an engine stall issue. Affected vehicles may illuminate a Malfunction Indicator Light or show inaccurate fuel gauge and distance-to-empty readings.
Repair and notification Dealers will install a powertrain software update at no cost to owners. Owner notification letters are scheduled to be mailed between July 6 and July 10. Owners can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 or visit a local Ford or Lincoln dealer to check whether their vehicle is included.
