Ford Recalls Over 740,000 Vehicles Over Transmission and Parking Defects

Ford is recalling 741,195 vehicles in the U.S. because a transmission defect can damage the parking system and allow vehicles to roll away. The recall covers certain 2018-2021 Navigator and Expedition models, 2020-2021 Explorer and Lincoln Aviator models, and 2021 F-150 pickups.

Dealers will update software and inspect or replace any damaged transmission components at no cost to owners.

Ford is also recalling 36,046 Bronco vehicles because improperly secured fender flares can detach while driving. The flares are the curved extensions above the tires that fit around wheel arches. Dealers will inspect and repair or replace the flares free of charge.
