Trump Administration Releases Nearly 3 Million Pages of Epstein Records
Pam Bondi told the House Oversight Committee that the Justice Department made redaction errors during its release of records related to Jeffrey Epstein. She said oversight was delegated to then-Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche and defended the administration’s transparency efforts.
Fox NewsFormer Attorney General Pam Bondi told the House Oversight Committee on Friday that the Justice Department made “redaction errors” in its release of records related to Jeffrey Epstein. Bondi said the team that reviewed the documents assured her the only materials withheld were non-responsive, privileged, or duplicative.
She added that the department produced nearly 3 million pages of material, including thousands of videos and hundreds of thousands of images.
Bondi told the panel she did not lead every aspect of the review and delegated oversight to then-Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. She said Blanche is now serving as acting attorney general. The former attorney general stated that all department components were directed to submit potentially responsive records, resulting in a comprehensive review of millions of documents.
He stated he asked her five times about any conversations with the president regarding the files. A top Justice Department official present during the interview told reporters that ground rules had been set beforehand limiting the scope to temporal and subject-matter boundaries.
The release followed passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act after earlier public statements about an Epstein client list that did not materialize. The final production was delayed in part due to the volume of records and the need for redactions.
Survivors gathered outside the hearing room before the interview and asked the committee chairman whether the panel would seek further answers about why some names were released while others were not. Bondi said the department stands ready to review any potential evidence of criminal activity related to Epstein and pursue appropriate action where facts and law warrant.
