She waved to audience members she recognized from her time in the East Wing and from Northern Virginia Community College. An interviewer who previously worked in her office asked about the 2024 campaign and whether she would choose the same path again.
She replied that the experience had been painful, particularly for their children. She stated that her book contains one chapter on the campaign's conclusion and many others about the duties of the first lady. She addressed a former spokesman who had said it was not the time to revisit the campaign, saying he should call her directly.
Audience and setting The audience consisted of Biden supporters and former colleagues. She greeted the chief floral designer at the White House by name and described receiving flowers that improved difficult days. She said her husband continues to speak with Kamala Harris and that the two remain friends.
War powers resolution The House passed a resolution on Wednesday to block further strikes on Iran. Four Republicans joined Democrats in support of the measure. A Republican House Conference Secretary said the vote was not significant because the resolution still requires Senate approval. She added that the president and his team should be allowed to operate to complete their work.
