Former Iowa State forward commits to Kentucky

Milan Momcilovic, the top-ranked player in the spring transfer portal, announced his commitment to Kentucky on Monday. He selected the Wildcats over Louisville and Arizona after entering the portal and participating in the NBA draft process.

Former Iowa State forward Milan Momcilovic announced Monday that he will transfer to Kentucky. Momcilovic chose the Wildcats over Louisville and Arizona. St. John's had also recruited him until last week, when the school withdrew after signing another transfer.

Player performance Momcilovic, a 6-foot-8 junior, led college basketball in three-point shooting last season. He averaged 16.9 points per game and made 48.7 percent of his three-point attempts, the highest mark in the NCAA. He recorded several high-scoring games, including 34 points against Cincinnati and 29 points against Oklahoma State.

He earned second-team All-Big 12 honors last season.

Kentucky outlook Kentucky enters the 2026-27 season after finishing 22-14 and exiting in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Momcilovic is expected to join transfers Alex Wilkins and Zoom Diallo in the starting lineup. Momcilovic entered the transfer portal and NBA draft in early April. He participated in the draft combine before withdrawing his name from consideration last week.
