George Russell won the sprint race earlier in the day from pole position. Kimi Antonelli finished third.

Antonelli started from the front row.

Russell maintained the lead while under pressure from Lando Norris. Antonelli attempted an outside pass at one corner. The two Mercedes drivers did not make contact.

Russell stated after the race that he did not believe he had done anything wrong and that the incident was not investigated by stewards. Antonelli expressed frustration over team radio. Team principal Toto Wolff later addressed the incident and said the team would review footage and establish rules of engagement for future races.

Antonelli leads the drivers' championship with 106 points. George Russell is second with 88 points. Charles Leclerc sits third with 63 points.
