Stefon Diggs, 32, released by the New England Patriots in March, posted a video asserting he ranks above any team's second wide receiver. The four-time Pro Bowler is seeking a new contract with training camps two weeks away.
Free agent Stefon Diggs said no NFL No. 2 wide receiver is better than him. In a video posted last week to his YouTube channel, Diggs said he can compete with anybody but placed himself above all current second options.

"But take those [top wide receivers] as your 1s, right? " He added that all 32 teams presumably have a No. 1 receiver yet only seven qualify as "real 1s" in his view.
Diggs, 32, became a free agent in March after the Patriots released him in a move that avoided a $26.5 million salary-cap charge. The team later traded for A.J. Brown and signed Romeo Doubs. In 2025 Diggs led the Patriots with 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns in the regular season and added 14 receptions for 110 yards and one touchdown in four playoff games, marking his seventh 1,000-yard season.
A season-ending knee injury in 2024 with the Houston Texans preceded the move to New England. Off the field, Diggs was found not guilty in May of assaulting his private chef. He had pleaded not guilty in February to a felony strangulation charge and a misdemeanor assault charge.
The NFL closed its review in June after finding insufficient evidence of a personal-conduct violation. "I brought myself here," Diggs said in the video. "Unfortunate at times, but I'm blessed. I'm going to be exactly where I'm supposed to be.
