Fremantle defeated Sydney by 38 points at a sold-out Optus Stadium despite scoring zero goals in the first half. The result lifted Fremantle to a 15-2 record, two wins clear on top of the AFL ladder and three-and-a-half wins ahead of third place. Caleb Serong said the environment at the club is special.
“It’s a great group of guys,” Serong said. “Like we come in and it doesn’t feel like work. ” The Dockers have six games remaining against Port Adelaide away, West Coast, Western Bulldogs at home, Melbourne away, Adelaide at home and Carlton away.
Fremantle’s only minor premiership came in 2015 with a 17-5 record. The club has raised $4 million for the Starlight Children’s Foundation. Port Adelaide will be without Zak Butters, Mitch Georgiades, Jason Horne-Francis and Jack Lukosius for its match against Fremantle.
