George Santos Bets on His Own State of the Union Attendance on Kalshi

Santos posted a video on X the day before the address stating he would be "in the gallery," which moved Kalshi odds on his attendance to 75 percent. He did not appear at the event.

NPR reported that Santos allegedly profited tens of thousands of dollars from the bet. A DOJ official told the Washington Examiner there is no active investigation into the matter, contradicting the NPR account.

Polymarket told the AP on Wednesday that it had terminated its paid influencer contract with Santos as a direct result of the Kalshi allegations. >"Federal authorities are investigating whether George Santos engaged in insider trading by betting on a prediction market on his own attendance to the State of the Union address." — The Guardian, June 3, 2026
