Georgia Angler Catches Record Brown Trout on Idaho River

A Georgia resident caught and released a brown trout on May 30 that set a new Idaho state record in the catch-and-release category. The fish was measured on the South Fork Snake River before being returned to the water. The angler had a battle with the trout prior to measuring it and releasing it back into the river.

Idaho maintains two state fishing records: catch and release, and certified weight. This landing qualifies for the catch-and-release category because the fish was returned after measurement. "I never dreamed when I started my day of fishing with Ed Emory of South Fork Lodge that God was going to bless me with a fish of a lifetime," the angler told Idaho Fish and Game.
