Giannis Antetokounmpo Traded to Heat, Ending 13-Year Bucks Tenure

The Milwaukee Bucks completed a trade sending Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis to the Miami Heat on Monday, ending his 13-year tenure with the franchise. The deal, agreed last month, sends Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., the No. 13 pick in the 2026 NBA draft, two future first-round picks, a pick swap and a second-round pick to Milwaukee.

Antetokounmpo leaves the Bucks as the franchise leader in points, rebounds, assists, blocks, minutes and triple-doubles. Milwaukee agreed last month to send Antetokounmpo and Portis to Miami in exchange for Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., the No. 13 pick in the 2026 NBA draft, two future first-round picks, a pick swap and a second-round pick.

Antetokounmpo posted a video on social media featuring an interview with longtime Bucks play-by-play announcer Jim Paschke. In the video, Antetokounmpo said goodbye to Milwaukee and expressed appreciation for the city. >"I hope bringing a trophy to this city meant something to them because it meant so much to me," Antetokounmpo said.
