Giants Running Back Skattebo Returns to Individual Drills at Minicamp After October Injury
Cam Skattebo participated in individual and team drills during the New York Giants' mandatory minicamp less than eight months after fracturing his tibia and dislocating his ankle. Coach John Harbaugh and Skattebo both indicated the running back is on track for the September 13 season opener.

Cam Skattebo took part in individual drills on the first day of the New York Giants' mandatory minicamp and ran a handoff from quarterback Jaxson Dart in team drills the following day, ESPN reported. The sessions marked his return to on-field work less than eight months after he suffered an open tibia fracture and right ankle dislocation in October.
Skattebo had resumed practicing before the end of spring, consistent with a timeline new coach John Harbaugh outlined earlier this year.
Harbaugh said after the first minicamp practice that Skattebo would receive plays in both group and team drills. " The comment referred to a backflip Skattebo performed several weeks earlier after hitting a home run at the Brian Burns Celebrity Softball Game. Skattebo told attendees at a Giants Town Hall event last month that he expects to be ready for the season opener.
The Giants open the 2026 schedule on September 13 against the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium. The team is scheduled to report to training camp in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, next month. Wide receiver Malik Nabers remains the Giants' primary injury concern entering the season.
Nabers tore the ACL in his right knee in late September and underwent cleanup surgery earlier this year.
