Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs arrested on domestic violence charges

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested Tuesday in Wisconsin on domestic violence charges, police said. Jacobs, 28, was booked into the Brown County jail on charges of battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, intimidation of a victim and strangulation and suffocation.

The strangulation and suffocation charge is listed as a felony while the remaining four charges are misdemeanors, according to jail records.

m. Saturday in the Hobart-Lawrence area. Police said the investigation continued until Tuesday, when Jacobs was arrested and held without bond. "This remains an active and ongoing investigation. No further information will be released at this time," the Hobart-Lawrence police chief said in a statement.

" "We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course," the attorneys added. The Packers said they were aware of the matter. "As it is an ongoing legal situation, we will withhold further comment," the team said in a statement.

The NFL said it was aware of the report and has been in contact with the Packers.

Jacobs' background Jacobs is entering his third season with the Packers after signing as a free agent in 2024. He previously spent five seasons with the Raiders, where he earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2022 and was selected to three Pro Bowls. Last season he scored 14 total touchdowns and rushed for 1,211 yards in 15 games.
