Claire Adams urged greater political will from the Labour government following a report by Baroness Casey on wrongful convictions of grooming gang victims.
news.sky.comA grooming gangs campaigner has demanded more action from the Government after a new report examined the convictions of grooming gang survivors. Speaking to GB News, Safeguarding Lead for CSE victims Claire Adams called on Sir Keir Starmer to show more political will on the issue.
A report by Baroness Casey found that children who are groomed, sexually abused and then prosecuted for crimes including prostitution continue to be failed by the system.
Baroness Casey stated that the Government's plans to pardon some victims do not go far enough and called for all wrongful convictions of grooming gang victims to be reviewed and quashed. Claire Adams said Baroness Casey and Maurice Glasman have stated that things have gone seriously wrong in this Government and in previous Governments.
She added that more political will is needed so that convictions for previous victims and those still ongoing can be addressed.
"What we need to see is more we need to see more from the Government, more political will, and more people to understand that children across this country are being groomed, trafficked, tortured and raped every single day," Adams said. Adams thanked GB News, especially Charlie Peters, and whistleblowers for covering and exposing grooming gang crimes.
She said more people need to speak out and move past difficult conversations on the issue.
GB News reported the statements on 12 June 2026.
