Two suspects, ages 17 and 19, opened fire at the Islamic Center of San Diego, the largest mosque in the area. Three adult victims were killed inside the mosque. Both suspects were later found dead in a vehicle a couple blocks away. A landscaper was shot at during the suspects' escape but was not hit.
Police are treating the attack as a hate crime.
The mosque grounds include a school, and all students and staff were confirmed safe. Officials stated they will examine the incident thoroughly.
