Hampshire advanced to the T20 Blast semi-finals with a 75-run victory over Essex at the Utilita Bowl on Wednesday night. The team reached Finals Day for a record 12th time and will face Notts Outlaws in the second semi-final on Saturday at Edgbaston.
Vince scored 125 runs off 61 balls, including a century reached from 43 deliveries after being dropped on 46. Toby Albert contributed 22 runs before his dismissal, and the opening partnership added 60 runs. Hampshire finished with 211 for 3. Sonny Baker then took a career-best 5 for 24 as Essex were restricted to 136 for 9.
"We know it will be a tough test against Notts," Vince told BBC Radio Solent. "Anyone that's in the competition at this stage is obviously a good side and playing good cricket." Vince added that reaching Finals Day remains personally significant. Hampshire aim to win the Blast trophy for a fourth time on Saturday.
